Golden Opportunity for UAE Students

Photonics Middle East offers a unique opportunity for budding and young scientists from the UAE schools and colleges, to present papers of original thought on the theme Light for Life. Selected presenters and their intuitions will be awarded in a ceremonious function, to be held in Dubai on 22nd April 2024. Also, there will be four student oriented interactive workshops on Hands on Holography, Vision Optics and Optical Instruments, Lasers in Healthcare, and Nano Photonics, which will be handled by Dr. P.T. Ajith Kumar, Photonics Innovations, UAE; Prof. Joby Joseph - IIT New Delhi; Prof. Murukeshan, Nanyang Technology University, Singapore and Prof. Nandakumar, Fellow, C-BLU, LYON UNIVERSITY, France, respectively.

IIT Delhi is part of Photonics ME

PhotonicsME on the IDL Calendar 2024

We are extremely happy that Photonics Middle East is now registered as an IDL event on its global calendar, and will be actively supporting the IDL theme for 2024, which is Light in Our Lives. The International Day of Light (IDL) is a global initiative that provides a platform for the appreciation and education of light, and the role light plays in science, culture and art and in fields as diverse as medicine, communications, and energy. Proclaimed by UNESCO in 2018, the six editions to date have seen over 2500 events take place in 100 countries around the world.




 
 

OSI Partners with PhotonicsME

The Optical Society of India (OSI), India’s foremost society of scientists, engineers, professionals and industries, functioning in Optics and Photonics has partnered with the Photonics ME. OSI represents India in the International Commission for Optics (ICO). Interacting with the PhotonicsME Team, Prof. Kallol Bhattacharaya, Secretary General of the OSI and Head of the Department of Applied Optics and Photonics, University of Calcutta said that India is on the verge of an explosive growth in Photonics R&D and the related industry. During the British period, Calcutta was the cradle of Indian optics industry and the city where C.V. Raman did his Nobel Prize winning research. Prof. Kallol opined that OSI’s partnering with PhotonicsME will fuel active networking, regional collaboration and new ventures.

Dr. Kumar is a laser holography scientist who was consecutively awarded with innovation gold medals by the Lockheed Martin, USA.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Said Al Kindi, Former Minister for Environment and Water, and former representative of UAE in the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, released the Call Letter and the Logo of Photonics Middle East, International Conference Dubai. During the occasion Dr. Al Kindi opined that Photonics is going to help humanity a lot and further revolutionise several advanced avenues of science and technology such as healthcare, industrial production, security and identity and high efficiency solar energy production; facilitating a more liveable world.

Photonics Middle East is taking place in one of the finest and most appropriate venues for an advanced research conference, the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). Named after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) is a medical university located in the heart of Dubai Healthcare City.
